Tottenham are flying so high that even Arsene Wenger has had to acknowledge their success.
In fact, the legendary Arsenal boss has even backed them for the title.
Spurs are flying
Wenger thinks they’re the real deal
Unbeaten Spurs recorded their eighth win from ten games against Crystal Palace on Friday, solidifying their spot at the top of the Premier League.
The north London side look revitalised under Ange Postecoglou, and they’re so far showing no signs of relenting.
Just behind them in the table is the league’s only other unbeaten side, Arsenal, who finished runners-up last season, a whopping 24 points ahead of Spurs.
However, this season the gap has closed dramatically, and Wenger was keen to praise the players responsible.
Speaking on his regular spot on beIN Sports, he said: “If I said after 10 games [they’d be] top of the league… You ask me, and it’s not a tricky question because I like to always say what I feel, really.
“Deeply, I believe Tottenham will be one of the contenders for the league.
“They bought [James] Maddison, who is a great player. He is that link from low midfield to high midfield and added some technical creativity to the team.
“They bought [Micky] van de Ven, who I find absolutely exceptional. They had weaknesses there and last season [Hugo] Lloris had not the best of seasons as well. And the movement from [Heung-min] Son into the middle looks very good.”
“For the Premier League, I would say Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, [Manchester] City, of course, will always come back. They look like the four or five at the moment for the Premier League.”
