Liverpool could have another young star on their hands after their Under-21 side triumphed in the EFL Trophy at Morecombe on Tuesday night.
The young Reds took on Football League opponents competing in League Two at Morecombe and won by three goals to nil in an impressive performance thanks to goals from Mateusz Musialowski, Calum Scanlon and Bobby Clark.
Journalist Neil Jones, who covers Liverpool for LFCTV, praised him after his performance against Football League opponents Morecambe on Tuesday night:

He was 16 and playing central defender and he was absolutely brilliant.Carter Pinnington was a revelation at the academy.
His recent performances have shown that he can play five years above his current age group.
At just 16 years old, he became a regular center back for the U21 team and played four times for the talented youth team.
Not only is he very popular with his club, but he has also been an England international at U15 and U16 level and continues to go from strength to strength.
There was also a moment when Pinnington made a last-ditch tackle to prevent one of his attackers from pushing towards goal, which caused a stir on social media, who were defending brilliantly.

The LFC website states that he is a freshman for the current 2023-24 season and can also play as a defensive midfielder as well as a central defender, which is his position natural.
