Liverpool rivals overview: Erik ten Hag has reportedly made his decision on Jadon Sancho, while Manchester United could be blocked from making a move on a Liverpool player.

Liverpool’s players head into the international break this week, with the Reds in a good position in the Premier League.

Despite dropping points in their last two games before the break, Liverpool are in fourth place, just three points behind leaders Tottenham and Arsenal, and one point behind reigning champions Manchester City.

However, Jurgen Klopp will not appreciate having to wait almost two weeks to avenge his team’s draw against Brighton following their controversial defeat at Tottenham.

However, it could be worse. He could put himself in Erik ten Hag’s shoes.

Although Manchester United secured a very late victory against Brentford before half-time, the mood at Old Trafford is still not particularly good as off-field problems and the ongoing takeover saga drag on.

According to the latest reports, Ten Hag will at least get their wish on Jadon Sancho, although they could be denied the chance to add a new striker to their ranks, with a Liverpool star playing a big role in that.

Here, Liverpool.com takes a look at the other big teams in the Premier League and across Europe to find out what’s new from other clubs. Erik ten Hag makes ‘final’ decision on Jadon Sancho

According to the Mirror, Erik ten Hag will not allow Jadon Sancho to return to the Manchester United team.

The report cites the Daily Mail’s claim that Ten Hag pushed to sell Sancho in the January transfer window.

The two had a very public row after the former Borussia Dortmund star attacked his manager on social media.

Ten Hag insisted Sancho was not selected against Arsenal because of his performances in training.
Liverpool FC away jersey 2023/2024

The 2023 remake of an iconic LFC jersey from the 1995/96 season features a round neck with a digital effects treatment that layers shades of green dubbed spark green, poison green and pine green.

It will be worn on the road by the Reds throughout the 2023/2024 season. Prices start from €49.

Liverpool.com says: It appears there will only be one outcome from this saga. It looks like Sancho will become yet another expensive flop at Old Trafford, with Manchester United’s transfer record certainly not to be admired.

It’s intriguing how United seem to have these dramas with their players on a regular basis, yet Liverpool very rarely face the same issues. It just goes to show that there is more to a transfer than just how good a player is on the pitch.

According to Football Insider, RB Leipzig will not receive any offers for striker Loïs Openda in January.

According to the report, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with the 23-year-old, but Leipzig do not want to weaken their squad further after losing several key players over the summer, including Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool.com says: ‘To be honest, you can absolutely understand Leipzig’s position here. Szoboszlai has been excellent for Liverpool so far, so you can imagine he would be a big miss.

And he’s not the only big star let go this summer: Joško Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku will also leave for Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.

Leipzig suffers from being in the same league as a dominant force like Bayern Munich, so they will do well to retain their big stars.

But Openda, which only arrived in the summer, will certainly still be safe for some time.
