CaughtOffside claimed that Santiago Gimenez emerged as Tottenham’s main striker in January, followed by Dusan Vlahovic.
The report claims that after failing to sign a genuine striker to replace Harry Kane in the summer, Spurs will prioritize signing a genuine striker in January.
The outlet adds that Gimenez has been “watched closely” by the Lilywhites in recent months and has now emerged as their “preferred option” to fill Kane’s shoes.
Should Spurs replace Gimenez or Vlahovic? It has emerged that Vlahovic is the other player Tottenham are considering after learning that the Serbia international is unlikely to sign a new contract at the Allianz Stadium.
However, it is explained that Juve would not be willing to let the 23-year-old go for a low price in January and a request of around 80 million euros is expected for the former Fiorentina star.
Interestingly, CaughOffside does not mention Spurs as contenders for Ivan Toney’s signature, suggesting that Chelsea and Arsenal are vying for the Brentford star’s services.
This makes a lot of sense because I simply don’t see Spurs breaking the transfer record to land Toney in January. Gimenez is a player with the right age profile and seemingly in Tottenham’s price range.
Report: Spurs face stiff competition from six major rivals for 21-year-old centre-back – Spurs Web – Tottenham Hotspur Football News
Tutto Juve journalist Mirko Di Natale has revealed that Tottenham are one of five Premier League clubs exploring a move for Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin in January.
Dragusin’s reputation has grown significantly over the past eighteen months.
The central defender enjoyed an excellent season on loan at Genoa last season, after which the Serie A club chose the option of signing him on a permanent basis from Juventus this summer.
The Romanian has never made a wrong move so far this season and it seems that he has now appeared on the radar of several top clubs.
The defender has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past, with Serie B News even claiming earlier this year that the north London club were closely monitoring his progress.
The centre-back’s agent, Florin Manea, revealed a few weeks ago that Newcastle were showing interest in his client, adding that Genoa valued the player at £26 million (Fanatik).
Spurs have competition for Radu Dragusin
Di Natale said on social media that Dragusin was on AC Milan’s radar and was also “very popular” with Premier League teams.
The journalist cites Tottenham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United as clubs considering signing the 21-year-old in January.
Tottenham’s interest in Dragusin likely dates back to Paratici’s time at the club, with the Italian being the man who brought the centre-back to Juventus as a teenager.
It remains to be seen whether the Romanian remains at the top of Spurs’ wishlist following an overhaul of the club’s recruitment department.
