West Ham United linked with a move for Sebastian Caceres – The Hard Tackle.com
West Ham United are keen on having 24-year-old Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur target Sebastian Caceres in their ranks.
According to a report by Football Insider, West Ham United are interested in acquiring the services of Sebastian Caceres.
The 24-year-old defender has made quite an impression thanks to his exceptional performances for the Uruguayan national team. And, he is now on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Caceres came through the ranks at Uruguayan outfit Liverpool before making a move to Mexico and joining Club America in the winter of 2020. Over the years, the 24-year-old has featured in 109 matches and has even contributed towards five goals.
He has featured in six league games so far this season and has put in some impressive shifts.
Meanwhile, Marcelo Bielsa has rewarded him for his consistent performances with a place in the Uruguayan national team. The 24-year-old has now become a regular in the national team and he has featured from the start in their last four official outings.
His impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention and with his contract running out in just over 12 months, he is expected to be on the move to a bigger club in the near future.
West Ham United are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. And, according to the report, the Hammers could sign Caceres for a fee of between £6-10 million.
The Liga MX outfit do not want to lose out on him for free and are ready to accept a minimal transfer fee for his services.
The Hammers are looking to land him at the club in the winter. They have done much better in the league in comparison to last season but David Moyes still feels the need to sign a new central defender and he feels Caceres could do wonders for them.
But, they are not the only ones in the race. West Ham will have to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
Spurs do not have much depth in the heart of the defence and with Eric Dier expected to part ways with the club, they do need defensive reinforcement. Caceres will freshen things up at the back and he will surely help their cause.
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag’s United have already suffered a lot of defensive injuries this season. Things haven’t been easy for them and they are looking to add a new defender in the winter. Caceres is on their radar and he could be a cost-effective option for the Red Devils.
