- Aaron Wan-Bissaka has completed a £15m move from Man United to West Ham
- The 26-year-old made 160 appearances across five seasons at Old Trafford
West Ham United have secured the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United in a deal valued at £15 million.
The full-back has successfully completed his medical with the Hammers, and his official announcement is expected shortly.
Wan-Bissaka, who had just one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, saw the transfer stall recently due to negotiations over a salary reduction in east London. However, the move was finalized on Monday, just days before West Ham’s Premier League opener.
This signing marks West Ham’s eighth addition of the summer, as new manager Julen Lopetegui continues to reshape the squad following his appointment in May.
Wan-Bissaka, who made 160 appearances for Manchester United and was part of their FA Cup-winning squad in May, originally joined the club in a £50 million move from Crystal Palace during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure.
His playing time had been limited under Erik ten Hag due to injuries and the form of Diogo Dalot, resulting in just 20 league starts for United in the 2023-24 season.
Wan-Bissaka joins several other new signings at West Ham this summer, including Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham, and Guido Rodriguez. French defender Jean-Clair Todibo also recently joined on loan from Nice, with an option for a permanent move next summer.
Manchester United responded to Wan-Bissaka’s departure by swiftly reinforcing their defense, signing Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich in a £55.8 million double deal.
West Ham’s Premier League season kicks off on Saturday with a home match against Aston Villa at the London Stadium.
