News Flash: Here is the championship star…….

NRL State Championship Feeder Report

Brisbane Tigers memorable 2023 season has come to a bittersweet end, the Hostplus Cup champions going down 42-22 to a strong South Sydney outfit in Sunday’s NRL State Championship game.

A chance to face the NSW Cup Premiers, the Tigers were unable to reproduce their heroics from the previous fortnight, when they held on for a thrilling 22-18 triumph against the Burleigh Bears.

Seven Storm contracted players played for the Tigers on NRL Grand Final Day, only a fortnight after the club ended a 32-year title drought.

The Tigers scored the third most points of any club in a spectacular HostPlus Cup season, with the Brisbane-based outfit’s offense clicking into gear as they demonstrated their ability to score from all areas of the field.

Storm’s fresh talent shone brightly on the big stage, with Joe Chan, Tristan Powell, and Jonah Pezet all making an impression in their respective first and second seasons.

Meanwhile, seasoned winger George Jennings had a fantastic season on the wing in 2023, scoring 13 tries in 15 games.

At the annual Player of the Year Awards night, Chan was named Brisbane Tigers Rookie of the Year and Powell was named Brisbane Tigers Best Forward for their outstanding seasons.

Meanwhile, seasoned forward Chris Lewis was voted Best Forward of the Year for the Sunshine Coast Falcons for his steady performances on their path to a Week 2 Finals berth.
