Former Tottenham Hotspur player Ramon Vega has now celebrated James Maddison as a world-class talent for the club.
Vega told X during the win against Liverpool that Tottenham finally have a midfielder of his caliber at the club.
The expert said: “Finally we have a world-class [director] at Tottenham in Maddison. »
Of course, this praise is unlikely to surprise any Spurs fan. Maddison looks like the bargain of the summer at £40 million, a player who could reach nine figures just a few months later.
As Vega says, Maddison is now the leader of this Tottenham midfield and appears to be at home in north London.
Additionally, the England international is currently building an important partnership with Son Heung-Min, who also plays a pivotal role.
Ange Postecoglou was confident he had signed exceptional talent in Maddison, but perhaps did not expect him to turn out to be a replacement for Harry Kane.
Maddison can’t replace Kane’s goals, but he does a great job replicating his leadership, creativity and enthusiasm.
Vega believes Maddison is Tottenham’s future
At 26, Maddison also joined Spurs at a promising age.
The midfielder still has potential to fill, he has room for improvement under Ange, but he is already a mature element.
Tottenham’s only worry now will be that their key players are injured.
Even though Maddison and Son were only out as a precaution after the recent problems, they would be sorely missed if there were further problems.
Spurs used four late substitutes yesterday: Ben Davies, Oliver Skipp, Alejo Veliz and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
And even though Veliz is just getting started, fans probably wouldn’t be surprised to see the other three evolve in the years to come.
Tottenham’s squad still lacks depth – an issue that will be addressed in upcoming transfer windows.
But as Vega assures, Tottenham now have world-class profiles like Maddison on whom Postecoglou can build the future.
