Antonio Conte has issued a huge warning to his former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho, while also citing one of the reasons why things haven’t worked out for him in north London.
The Italian manager took over from Nuno Espirito Santo at the start of the 2021/22 season before leading Spurs to a return to the Champions League at the expense of arch-rivals Arsenal.
The following season was personally very difficult for Conte, as two of his close friends died and the 54-year-old also had to undergo emergency surgery.
Tottenham fitness manager Gian Piero Ventrone and Italian legend Gianluca Vialli sadly died alongside Conte, who had to undergo emergency surgery to remove his gallbladder.
The 2022/23 season has therefore been full of personal challenges for Conte and his famous tirade after the draw against Southampton showed a man at the end of his rope.
Just over a week after that press conference, it was announced that Conte and Tottenham had agreed to part ways.
Conte is yet to return to management, but recently revealed he had turned down a lucrative offer to work as a coach in Saudi Arabia.
And now the former Chelsea manager has admitted he would be interested in coaching two clubs in Italy, one of which is managed by Mourinho.
“They are two clubs that I would like to try because of the passion of the fans,” Conte said of Roma and Napoli in an interview with Rai TV’s Belve show, translated by Football Italia via Mirror.
“I hope that one day I will have the chance to live this experience.”
Mourinho has just begun his third season as coach of the Italian side, having led them to the Europa Conference League in 2022 before taking over the following year.

“I don’t accept work during the season because situations arose before my arrival,” he admitted.
