Tottenham Hotspur have had an excellent start to the season and it will be interesting to see how they continue to fare.
Now Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has received another big boost over the future of one of his players inN17.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham playmaker Giovani Lo Celso has decided he wants to fight for his place at Spurs.
Postecoglou is “counting on him” and has already made it clear that he wants to keep Lo Celso.
The Argentine will be hoping to break into the Tottenham team and prove himself in the Premier League upon his return from injury.
Lo Celso did well in pre-season, scoring two goals in three friendlies and doing enough to convince Postecoglou.
Unfortunately, the 27-year-old suffered an injury during the Carabao Cup defeat to Fulham and is yet to play.
Lo Celso hasn’t had the best of times at Tottenham, but if there’s one Spurs manager who can get him back on track, it’s Postecoglou.
In just a few months the Australian has transformed Tottenham.
Not only that, but players who were on the fringes are now shining. For example, Yves Bissouma struggled under Antonio Conte, but is now back to his best and shining for Spurs.
Former Villarreal teammate Geronimo Rulli previously regarded Lo Celso as “one of the best players in the world”.
There’s a player there. We know it. If it weren’t for his injury, maybe we’ll see him more often.
From the looks of things, hopefully we’ll see him in action when he returns.
As for Postecoglou, this is a big win for him, not only because he will retain the services of such a good player, but it also shows that the players want to play for him instead of making him a runner.
