Blades’ win marks best start to a league season in 58 years Tottenham Hotspur

Saturday’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United marked our best start to a league season since the 1965/66 season.

After falling behind in a game we had dominated when Gustavo Hamer put the Blades ahead in the 74th minute, we managed to do so with two goals in the final four minutes from Richarlison and Dejan’s 12 added goals Kulusevski. his head and fix the three points.

This victory confirms our unbeaten start to the league season and is our fourth consecutive victory in the top flight after a draw on the opening weekend against Brentford (2-2). We obtained 13 points out of 15 possible.

This is the first time since the start of the 1965/66 season that we have recorded four wins and a draw in the first five matches.

Coincidentally, two days into this season, on August 25, 1965, after a victory against Leicester, in Athens, Greece, our head coach Ange Postecoglou was born.

And, interestingly enough, the next match on the schedule, after the initial five matches mentioned above, was a league match against – you guessed it – Arsenal.

Sheffield United and Tottenham have condemned racist and offensive messages received by Blades goalkeeper Wes Foderingham following Saturday’s match.

Foderingham was on target as Sheffield United took a 1-0 lead at Spurs before conceding two goals in injury time to suffer a 2-1 defeat.

“I don’t mind opposition fans calling me every possible name,” Foderingham wrote on social media.

“But beware of racism and family threats. Think before you write.”

Sheffield United said in a statement that it “condemns the racist, abusive and threatening messages” sent to Foderingham.

The Bramall Lane club added: “The club will now work with the relevant agencies to investigate and support Wes.
“There is no room for racism in our game.”

Gustavo Hamer gave Sheffield United the lead before Richarlison equalized and Dejan Kulusevski grabbed Tottenham’s winner.

“We are disgusted by the racist, abusive and threatening messages sent to Wes Foderingham following yesterday’s match,” Spurs said in a statement.

“The club is firmly against any form of discrimination and will co-operate fully with Sheffield United and the relevant authorities in their investigations.

“We will not hesitate to take the strongest possible action, including club bans, against any so-called supporters found responsible.”
