Stephen Warnock says it will take Brennan Johnson “ten games” to break into Ange Postecoglou’s first team following his move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 22-year-old has been added to Tottenham’s already thriving and fearless striker, but Warnock thinks there are only two positions he will fight for and those are the wide areas, as he told The Football Show on Sky Sports.
With Son Heung-min’s latest hat-trick against Burnley, no one will be able to dethrone the club captain anytime soon.
Brennan Johnson can play in the center, but if he prefers one of the two flanks then he will play on the right channel.
The £48 million signing (Sky Sports) should be no problem to adapt to Tottenham as he has had a taste of Premier League football in Forest colours.
Furthermore, it will be added to a system that all attackers in the world will enjoy playing in.
“He has to earn his place in the team, right?!” Warnock said. “It will be difficult for him to assert himself. Will he play against both sides?
“He’s not going to put Son out of position because of this performance. I think it might take Brennan Johnson ten games to get into this team and show what he can do.
Someone could get hurt. A loss of form for one of the wider players.
“However, I don’t see Brennan Johnson playing halfback. I see him playing in one of those wide positions.
“But it can happen where Ange Poscoglou” I will revolve them “is going, she loves them fresh and hungry from the sofa. The players impactful.
If I did 60 minutes against Kulusevski, the Brennan Johnson, like a triple I think:” Where is the truce here “
As Ian Wright said previously, Johnson was able to place pen for a paper in Tottenham, Wales International is “perfect” for the club.
Although Nottingham Forest lost such a key figure and someone who came through their academy, Serge Aurier was also happy to see him guarantee him a transfer to Spurs.
Obviously there could be a touch of prejudice there because Aurier played for the London Club, but he should not hide from how Johnson has been one of the best purchases of Tottenham in recent years.
