Tadej Pogačar to Join Star-Studded Lineup at Beking Monaco Event
Slovenian cycling champion Tadej Pogačar was notably absent from the Tour de France route presentation in Paris last Tuesday, as the UAE Team Emirates rider is currently enjoying a well-earned vacation with his partner, Urska Zigart. Instead of attending the Paris event, Pogačar seized the chance to take a direct route to his vacation destination following a sponsor visit in the United Arab Emirates. However, fans can expect to see Pogačar at a high-profile cycling event in Monaco, organized by friend and fellow cyclist Matteo Trentin, on November 24.
The Beking Monaco event, held for the third time this year, promotes cycling as a sustainable form of mobility and aims to raise public awareness around the sport. Trentin expressed pride in Pogačar’s participation, saying, “I am proud that Tadej will show his world champion’s jersey in the streets of Monaco. It is a great honor for us, and the public will be thrilled to see the world champion in action up close. It demonstrates how important our sport can be in society and everyday life.”
In addition to Pogačar, the event will host a remarkable lineup of WorldTour cyclists and athletes from various sports. Notable names include Australian cyclist Michael Matthews, Slovenian compatriot Matej Mohorič, and UAE teammate Tim Wellens. Other cycling stars such as Elia Viviani with partner Elena Cecchini, Movistar’s Davide Formolo, and former World Champion Mads Pedersen will also join the roster.
Alongside cyclists, fans will see prominent athletes like Croatian tennis star Marin Čilić, F1 driver Oliver Bearman, former F1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi, and retired racers Nicolas Roche, Manuel Quinziato, and Thor Hushovd. With this impressive assembly, the Beking Monaco event promises a celebration of cycling and sportsmanship, drawing fans from around the world to the scenic streets of Monaco.
