GOOD NEWS: ROMA SING THREE PLAYERS FROM….

After securing the signing of Enzo Le Fée, Roma are targeting three more French players to complete their squad. The most pressing need is a starting-caliber right-back, with Lorenz Assignon emerging as the top candidate. Negotiations with Rennes have been ongoing for some time, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Roma initially proposed a loan with an option to buy, but Rennes rejected this offer, preferring a more permanent arrangement after previously loaning Assignon to Brighton last January. Roma had also considered Marc Pubill, who is no longer moving to Atalanta due to failed medical tests.

Additionally, Roma are monitoring Sevilla’s Loic Badé and Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré. Badé’s transfer fee is approximately €20 million, but their potential arrivals depend on some player departures. Daniele De Rossi recently expressed concerns about the squad size, which currently stands at 31 players, making it difficult to manage.

Roma is looking to offload either Chris Smalling or Marash Kumbulla, though it’s proving to be a challenging task. Meanwhile, Edoardo Bove is the only midfielder available for transfer, as the others hold significant roles in the team. Fiorentina has shown the most interest, but they recently signed Amir Richardson from Reims for €9 million.

Our Opinion on Roma
Securing a younger defender to replace the injury-prone Smalling would be beneficial, but the main priority should be acquiring a quality right-back. If they manage to sign a standout player for that position, they could consider their transfer business complete, though their budget appears limited after multiple recent signings.
