Paqui Meneghini’s future took an drastic turn…

Paqui Meneghini was in advanced talks to become the new head coach of Melgar in Peru. However, he decided to withdraw from negotiations, opting to wait for other opportunities instead. Despite the progress with León del Sur, Meneghini chose to decline the offer, aiming to see what other proposals might come his way in the near future.

Meneghini expressed gratitude to Melgar’s management for their interest but officially stepped back from the discussions.

Currently, Melgar sits third in the Peruvian league standings with 35 points, temporarily managed by Marco Valencia, who will return to his role in the lower divisions once the tournament concludes.

Meneghini has been without a team since leaving Everton de Viña del Mar on March 8, following the team’s failure to qualify for the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana. During his tenure with Everton, he oversaw 78 matches, achieving 28 wins, 26 draws, and 24 losses.
