Flacco is sending a clear message about his future with the NFL Browns.

Flacco spoke with Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio following Cleveland’s home win over the AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Dec. 10. In that conversation,

the QB outlined his future plans, which Florio revealed on his podcast on Monday.

“No matter what you do in life, that’s what he says you should do.”

“I have to do something other than football for the rest of my life. I’m going to play football as much as I can,” Florio told host Chris Simms.

With Flacco returning to the practice squad as the Browns’ starter after Monday’s first win, the quarterback could have jumped ship and signed with any NFL team.

But media reports and coach Kevin Stefanski assured the Dawg Pound that wouldn’t happen.

“I just want to tell you not to worry,” Stefanski said Monday.

Despite all the attention, Flacco wants to stay in Cleveland.

“One team that would be a good fit for Flacco is the Minnesota Vikings, who traded Josh Dobbs for Nick Mullens before Week 15.

If Mullens wins, the Vikings would join the Browns as one of the few NFL teams that four quarterbacks have started this season. Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Over the past four seasons, all of Joe Flacco’s NFL wins have come in Cleveland.

It goes without saying that the 38-year-old Flacco would like to play in Cleveland for the rest of this season and possibly the rest of his professional career.

Not only did the Browns allow Flacco to play back in the NFL, naming him the starter for the rest of 2023 after two games, but Cleveland was the only place Flacco recorded a win as a starter in the past four seasons.

Flacco spent the last three years with the New York Jets. He started 9 games in that span and recorded 1 win and 8 losses.

His only win came in Week 2 at Cleveland last season.

Fund now finishes the year 1-1 as the Browns’ starter in 2023 with games against the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, Jets and Bengals.

Flacco played his first 11 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, earning Super Bowl MVP honors following the 2012 campaign, and spent a year with the Denver Broncos before landing in New York.

According to Pro Football Reference, he went 49 of 89 for 565 yards, 5 TDs and 2 TDs for the Browns in 2023.
