What do you think about 2023 Cleveland Browns running back Deebo Samuel, D.K. Could Metcalf or AJ use a wide receiver like Brown?
They had a shot at them in the 2019 NFL Draft, but in former general manager John Dorsey’s replay video, it appears the team’s front office thought there were no “wide receivers” in the draft.
The 2019 NFL Draft was a bit of a mess for the Browns and general manager John Dorsey.
Thanks to the Odell Beckham Jr. trade, the team did not receive a first-round pick, and two of the seven players they selected are out of the league, none of whom are still with the Browns.
To make matters worse, Dorsey said in the video that he traded Beckham because there were no better receivers in the draft.
And boy, was he wrong.
“There’s really not a huge ceiling. You don’t necessarily need a wide receiver,” Dorsey said in a news conference after the 2019 first round.
“Tomorrow you’re going to see some receivers tearing up the boards.Dorsey was right about the first-round pass rusher.
Oklahoma State’s Marquis “Hollywood” Brown (No. 25, Baltimore Ravens) played solid, and Arizona State University’s N’Kil Harry (No. 32, New England Patriots) played well.
However, the WRs that came off the board in the second round are now three of the best players at the position in the NFL. suggestionPurdy MVP, Purdy 49ers, Brock Purdy, Deebo Samuel, 49ersEnzo Flojo ·
2 days ago South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel was taken 36th overall by the San Francisco 49ers. So to be fair to Dorsey, the Browns have never hit 46 without a turnover.
However, after Cleveland acquired LSU cornerback Grady Williams, five Pro Bowl WRs were selected.
The players in question are AJ Brown (#51), D.K. Metcalf (64), Deontay Johnson (66), Terry McLaurin (76), Hunter Renfro (149).
Obviously, many teams didn’t see the incredible value in this WR draft class, but Browns fans should feel bad for the former GM who said in the video that high-end pass receivers aren’t available.
