Newsome did not practice Wednesday, but returned on a limited basis Thursday and Friday.
Before kickoff on Sunday, the Browns cleared Newsome to play.
Running back Pierre Strong Jr., who was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, was also cleared to play Sunday.
