NFL World Reacts to Terrible Chiefs News

The Chiefs scored fewer points than the Browns.

For many years, the Kansas City Chiefs were considered the most explosive offense in the league behind perennial MVP contender Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.

But as one particularly shocking statistic shows, that certainly wasn’t the truth during the 2023 NFL season.

As former NFL coach Blake Williams pointed out on Twitter, the Kansas City Chiefs actually scored fewer points than the Cleveland Browns this season, despite the Browns having Deshaun Watson,

P.J. Walker and New rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson played three different quarterbacks. Robison. “Here’s a crazy statistic for you.

The Browns & Chiefs have the same record, and the Browns have scored more points than the Chiefs this year,” Williams said in a post on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter.

It’s certainly pretty terrible news for the Chiefs and Mahomes that they’ve struggled to overcome a team that hasn’t even had a consistent quarterback, and as a result, the NFL world has had a lot to say about it on social media.

The Chiefs still have a 7-3 record and lead their division, thanks in part to an absolutely dominant defense this season, but that certainly doesn’t bode well for them as they try to defend their Super Bowl title.

Broderick Jones moves into No. 1 spot as PFF’s highest-rated OT rookie

It’s been quite a week for Pittsburgh Steelers rookie right tackle Broderick Jones.

After removing the “GOLD” designation between him and Chukwuma Okorafor on the depth chart at right tackle, making Jones the full-time starter, the Georgia native also had a solid performance against the Cleveland Browns during the week 11.

This improved his overall Pro Football Focus grade, ranking him No. 1 among NFL rookie offensive tackles.

Jones, who posted a 65.0 overall PFF grade against the Browns, including 60.3 as a run blocker and 67.6 in pass defense, surpassed Chicago’s Darnell Wright as the highest-ranked offensive tackle noted from the draft class. Jones is currently at 62.8 this season.

“Jones solidified his grip on the right tackle position in Pittsburgh and is now the highest-rated rookie tackle in the NFL. Even though he allowed a sack to Ogbo Okoronkwo, Jones held his own against the Browns’ strong front,” writes Dalton Wasserman of PFF.

“His overall grade of 65.0 was his second-best of the year, and he allowed just four pressures on 98 pass-blocking snaps at right tackle.”

Against the Browns, Jones played all 58 snaps, allowing just two pressures on 34 dropbacks. He gave Okoronkwo the aforementioned sack and at times struggled with speed off the edge against the veteran pass rusher, but for the most part Jones was consistent.

This season, Jones has allowed just eight pressures in 172 pass-blocking reps, allowing just one sack.

He has only received one penalty this season.

Jones’ performance against the Browns was his highest mark in a game since Week 5 against Baltimore, when he started at left tackle for the injured Dan Moore Jr.

On that day, Jones finished with a PFF grade of 74.8. Since then, Jones has grades of 60.6, 58.8, 55.3 and now 65.0 against the Browns.

In the loss to Cleveland, Jones made a key block to free Jaylen Warren on his 74-yard touchdown run to open the second half.

He moved forward and took the lead to catch the defensive back, clearing a lane for Warren to sprint, giving the Steelers life.

The rookie gets better and better each week – as expected – as he gains more experience.

Even though he has experience at right tackle instead of left tackle, the position he was supposed to play when the Steelers traded up to draft him, Jones has solidified the position and helped solidify the offensive line.
