Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has hinted at signing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, with Liverpool reportedly interested in the youngster.
Interviewed by journalist Kerry Hau, the Bundesliga official replied: “We’ll see,” when asked whether the German giants could make a move for the 20-year-old sensation.
Fabrizio Romano was the one who broke Liverpool’s interest in Wirtz in March, and the record-breaking youngster could now be set for a mega move in 2024.
However, Bayern may now be favorites to sign the attacking midfielder, a move that could be inspired if Jamal Musiala, another rumored Liverpool target, leaves next year.
Next summer, Musiala and Wirtz could dominate the rumours, and Liverpool should look to sign one of Germany’s talented internationals. Liverpool could be big winners regardless of Bayern’s stance on Wirtz
With Bayern reportedly interested in Wirtz, 2024 could be the year the Bundesliga giants decide to swap one talented German attacking midfielder for another.
And for Liverpool, both players would be considered sensational signings by fans, with Musiala obviously the more attractive option given his England links.
2024 is already shaping up to be a big year in the European transfer market and Bayern’s move for Wirtz could have a big impact on Liverpool’s plans for the summer.
Liverpool player’s seven-month injury is finally over; I could play next week
Calvin Ramsay had what some would call a great year, as he was injured most of the time after February of this year.
The Scot has not played a senior competitive match since Liverpool’s victory over Derby in the Carabao Cup, having suffered a serious knee injury earlier in the year which ended his first season at Anfield prematurely.
Subsequent hopes of a loan move to Preston North End were dashed after what the Lancashire Post described as a “recurrence” of his previous injury, leaving him on the sidelines for another two-and-a-half months.
There’s good news, I promise…
Fortunately, it now appears that Ramsay’s (dare you say it) seven-month layoff period is coming to a different end.
The aforementioned publication reported on PNE boss Robin Lowe’s plans to reinstate the former Aberdeen star into the team. After rehabbing at Liverpool, the player is now set to play in the Lancashire Senior Cup next week.
It’s an exciting development for a player many were looking forward to seeing develop at Anfield alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold as the No.66’s understudy.
Hopefully he will now have the chance to make up the minutes ahead of pre-season and the 2023/24 season.
