Sad news from Norwich City……

Sunderland are looking to break their three-game losing streak when Norwich City arrive on Wearside this weekend.

The Black Cats’ 1-0 loss at Championship leaders Leicester City in midweek came on the back of a reverse at Stoke City last Saturday, and a heavy home defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough before the international break.

While Sunderland came away from the King Power Stadium empty-handed, the game did at least see Dennis Cirkin eased back into action from the bench, with the defender having been out since the beginning of September with a hamstring issue.

But there were a couple of notable absentees against the Foxes with Adil Aouchiche and Bradley Dack both missing out through injury.

Spanish striker Eliezer Mayenda is close to full fitness after missing the start of the season following his move to Sunderland, but skipper Corry Evans remains out long-term.

Tony Mowbray provides injury updates before each match and Chronicle Live has gathered here the latest information we have on the situation of the players currently in the treatment room at the Academy Light.

Aouchiche was on the bench at Stoke last weekend but missed the midweek trip to Leicester, after which Mowbray said the French midfielder was suffering from a groin injury.. Mowbray said on Oct 26:

: “The medical report tells me it will take one to two weeks, so there should be no long-term problems.

Dack has returned from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since early September when he came off the bench at Stoke.

But there was no sign of him at Leicester on Tuesday night and Mowbray later said the midfielder’s absence was again due to a hamstring problem.

But just two days later, on October 26, Mowbray said Dack was back in training, adding:
“Bradley is fine, he just needs to get back up to speed after being out for six weeks or longer due to a traumatic hamstring injury.
