“Yet another RB claimed to the dreaded high ankle sprain.”
Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY SportsAll in all, Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford responded admirably after Nick Chubb went down with a season-ending Achilles injury. But it now appears the Browns’ starting running back could miss several weeks, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting that Ford suffered a “low-grade, severe ankle sprain” on Sunday during Cleveland’s 39-38 win on the Indianapolis Colts.According to Schefter, the Cincinnati product should last 1-2 weeks.Ford suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Browns’ win in Week 7.Before leaving the game, he rushed for 74 yards on 11 attempts, including a 69-yard touchdown run on the third play from scrimmage of the game.In seven games, Ford has totaled 344 yards and two touchdowns on 78 attempts. After Week 7, Cleveland’s rushing attack ranks second in the NFL with 147.5 yards per game.Without the availability of Chubb and Ford, the Browns will rely on a running back room that currently consists of Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong Jr. On Monday, Cleveland reportedly waived running back Deon Jackson, perhaps a sign that the Browns could hope for a position change in the coming days.Followingnews of Ford’s injury, many took to social media to express themselves.
