.Pep Guardiola reportedly wants Manchester City to beat Liverpool with the signing of Bayern Munich superstar Jamal Musiala.
According to Bild, the Catalan manager is keen to bring the German international to Manchester, with Musiala now in the sights of both City and Liverpool.
With Real Madrid also in the mix for Musiala, competition for the youngster’s signature is heating up, although Bayern have no intention of selling the former England youth star.
Musiala is praised by Jurgen Klinsmann as a “phenomenal” player. Musiala is undoubtedly one of the best young players in Europe and a talent that every top club would like to have in their register.
And City and Liverpool are seemingly no exception, with the Premier League giants keen to sign Musiala, with Guardiola directing his club to bring the 20-year-old to Manchester.
However, Bayern’s desire to keep Musiala could be a huge obstacle, and Liverpool would have to go about their business for the German star in a different way.
Liverpool can beat Manchester City against Musiala
Musiala has all the makings of becoming a world-class player in the next couple of years, and Liverpool could comfortably beat a club like City with the youngster’s quality.
The Reds are no strangers to signing the right player, and Musiala could be just that for Liverpool if they do their job right.
The battle ahead will be long and exhausting indeed, but Liverpool can emerge victorious if they play their cards well.

Jurgen Klopp treated teenager Trey Nyoni to a first-team training session today.
The Reds are busy preparing to face Ligue 1 side Toulouse in the Europa League.
Liverpool have already beaten LASK and Union Saint-Gilloise and will look to maintain that record 100%.
Klopp will obviously want to rotate his squad ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest. Trey Nyoni is present during training at Liverpool
Klopp has shown a willingness to rotate in European matches this season, but few expected to see a 16-year-old in contention.
Well, that could be the case for midfielder Trey Nyoni.
Liverpool journalist Neil Jones shared on social media that Nyoni attended first team training on Wednesday afternoon.
Fellow youngsters Calum Scanlon and Luke Chambers were also involved with Klopp and were keen to see his young players in the first team.
We could see all three youngsters on the bench on Thursday night, with the trio no doubt dreaming of playing in the Europa League.
Who is Liverpool talent Nyoni?
Nyoni started out in the Leicester City ranks and showed great potential at the Foxes, which put him on Liverpool’s radar.
Liverpool managed to win the race last summer and secure Nyoni ahead of a number of Premier League rivals.
Nyoni has been in sensational form so far and has already scored three goals in three U18 Premier League games for the Reds.
An attacking midfielder who is already showing his eye for goal, Nyoni has clearly caught Klopp’s eye so far this season.
A debut against Toulouse may be unlikely, but if Nyoni continues to shine, he will be impossible to ignore in the group stage.
