Paul Merson has predicted a 2-0 win for Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside derby.
The Englishman highlighted an “extraordinary” gap between Everton’s men and Jurgen Klopp, with Sean Dyche’s men just three points clear of the relegation zone, in stark contrast to the leaders in fourth place.
“The gap between these two teams is too big and I don’t see how Everton can hold on this weekend,” the former Arsenal star wrote in his column for Sportskeeda.“It’s amazing how big the gap has become between these two teams over the years.
“This game might be a draw, but if you look at both teams this season, you can’t see anything other than a Liverpool win.
”The Anfield side will be hoping for a first league win since September 24, with an unfortunate defeat against Tottenham and a draw against Brighton ahead of their next fixture.
A golf and a half but no place to rest we can objectively say that Liverpool have far more quality compared to the Toffees as things stand.
This means that when it comes to a derby, all bets are undeniably off the mark over the expectations that the game entails with games coming closer together between now and mid-November, starting an intense period with a win over our city rivals would be the perfect way to set the right tone.
