Liverpool have reportedly prioritized the signing of Fluminense star Andre Trindade in the January window, according to Football Insider.
After a disappointing season last season, the Reds decided to upgrade their engine room, signing Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch during the recently concluded summer window.
However, after Fabinho left the club, the Merseyside club failed to acquire a top option to strengthen their midfield position.
Several names have been linked with a move to Anfield this summer, with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia named as top targets, but Andre has also emerged as a serious option.

According to Football Insider’s report, the Merseyside club made several official offers to sign the 22-year-old this summer, but the Brazilian club rejected all offers as they were not willing to let their star leave in the middle of the season.
However, the report claims that despite failing to sign Andre this summer, Liverpool are still interested in purchasing Andre and plan to reignite their interest in acquiring his services in the January window.
It has been suggested that there is a £34 million release clause in Andre’s current contract, meaning the Reds would have to spend a reasonable sum to sign the South American.
The 22-year-old is an extremely talented player and has the potential to become a top-class midfielder in the future.
He is technically sound, can play passes between the lines, has a flair for long-distance passes, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight spaces, has a knack for scoring goals from distance and can also contribute defensively. So he would be a great signing for Liverpool if they managed to lure him to Anfield.
However, it will be interesting to see whether Jürgen Klopp’s side ultimately opt for a hands-on approach to securing his signature next year.
