Brighton-Liverpool LIVE: Premier League result and reaction

Brighton and Liverpool played out an entertaining draw at the Amex Stadium in a four-goal thriller that came and went.

Brighton took the lead in the first half thanks to clever play from Simon Adingra, who collected the ball from Alexis Mac Allister and scored a fine finish.

Liverpool responded immediately at the end of the first half. First, Mo Salah was moved to the other side of the penalty area and calmly sent it into the net.

The Reds were then awarded a penalty after a foul on Dominik Szobozslai and Salah stepped up to grab his second goal of the afternoon.

Roberto De Zerbi’s men recovered in the second half and were rewarded thanks to poor defending from Andy Robertson.

Solly March’s free-kick found Lewis Dunk in the penalty area and he volleyed home the equalizer.

Luck is in Arsenal’s favor as Mikel Arteta finally surpasses Pep Guardiola

A crucial diversion and potentially a diversion in the fate of many players involved in this growing affair.

Arsenal secured their first Premier League win over Manchester City since December 2015 and Mikel Arteta’s first points against his former employers.

Otherwise it would have been thirteen defeats in a row, but it was Arsenal who enjoyed their luck when the numbers finally turned.

City themselves have lost consecutive league games for the first time since December 2018, after Gabriel Martinelli’s opportunistic effort left Nathan Ake and Ederson behind for a win that could prove significant in the fast-growing title race.

FT Arsenal-Manchester City 1-0

Manchester City had four shots in this match. These are the fewest shots Pep Guardiola has taken in a top game since April 2010 for Barcelona against Espanyol (also four).
