Brighton took the lead after 20 minutes against Liverpool, Simon Adingra catching Allisson in the Liverpool goal with an early shot after Virgil van Dijk played a poor ball, resulting in Mac Allister being dispossessed.
Against the run of play, Liverpool equalized after 39 minutes.

Lewis Dunk passed the ball to Dominik Szoboszlai and the Hungarian passed it to Darwin Nunez.

He passed the ball to Luis Diaz, whose pass to Harvey Elliott had just the right weight for it to pass Mohamed Salah in goal.

Liverpool took the lead from the penalty spot in the 44th minute when Bart Verbruggen made a clumsy pass to Pascal Gross.

He was dispossessed by Szoboszlai and in a desperate attempt to win the ball back he ripped the Liverpool midfielder, allowing Salah to score from the spot.

Brighton equalized in the 78th minute when Solly March’s free-kick from the left was met by Lewis Dunk, who smashed the ball on the volley after Andy Robertson had failed to cut out the cross to the near post.

The Seagulls had a great chance to win, but Joao Pedro shot over from close range in the 84th minute after a cross from Adingra.

Here’s how they rated the Albion players…
1. Liverpool’s Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister (L) competes with Brighton’s Irish striker Evan Ferguson.

2. Bart Verbruggen 4

Back in the lineup ahead of Steele. No chance with Salah’s opener, then a serious mistake with a terrible pass from Pascal Gross which led to the penalty. Sales need to improve

3. Joel Veltman 6

A typically solid performance from the Dutchman. He did well with Diaz and also with Nunez when he moved alongside him. Safe in possession.

4.Igor6

He made his debut in the Premier League and made a good impression in Europe against Athens and against Chelsea at the Carabao.

After 62 minutes he had to leave the field early due to an injury and was replaced by van Hecke.

Passed the ball to Szoboszlai for Liverpool’s lead. Defensively, he’s not at his best at the moment, but he made up for it with his third goal against Liverpool with a smart finish from close range.

6. Solly on March 7

Well integrated as a left back and perfectly defended against Salah and Trent AA. Good relationship with Mitoma if he could. After the break he pushed further forward and his free kick allowed Dunk to equalise.

7. Gross Pascal 5

He conceded a penalty after wearing Szoboszlai’s shirt following a bad pass from Verbruggen. He could have been sent away for this.

8. Carlos Baleba7

This shows that it’s really promising, but there’s still a lot to learn. Very powerful and athletic and will improve tactically and positionally.

9. Simon Adingra 8

Great performance for his goal which caused him problems with skill and pace on the right side. Robertson caused plenty of problems and bad luck early in the second half when he denied a superb save from Alisson.

ten. João Pedro 6

Very determined and did everything he could to make things happen. Probably his best performance in a Brighton shirt, but he missed an opponent when he fired over the goal from close range in the 83rd minute.

11. Kaoru Mitoma 6

Very calm in the first half. He came into the game more after the break, but didn’t make the impact he was capable of in the final third.

12. Evan Ferguson5

There was little action in the first half.

After 50 minutes he managed to head a shot just over the goal, but struggled to make an impact and was replaced by Welbeck after the hour mark.
