Ian Doyle has lamented the “terrible” way Liverpool fell behind in a Premier League match and conceded first against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
The deadlock was resolved after 21 minutes when Alexis Mac Allister, facing his old club for the first time, was taken into possession by Simon Adingra.
He ran into the space in front of him before racing past Alisson Becker, whose positioning left a lot to be desired.

Mac Allister loses the ball from Van Dijk’s pass and Adingra receives a shot from miles away that appears to go straight through Alisson, who has lost his way. Absolutely terrible.
Unfortunately, there is no point in describing that goal other than as a horror show from Liverpool’s point of view.
Virgil van Dijk’s pass to Mac Allister was half-hearted, but the Argentine still should have done much better than to let Adingra unseat him so easily.
Even the usually excellent Alisson will be sorely disappointed by his role in proceedings, trapped in a sort of no man’s land inside his penalty area as the Brighton goalscorer took aim from almost 30 yards and was duly rewarded.
Jurgen Klopp will be furious at the way Liverpool have fallen behind, and the Reds simply cannot afford to dish out gifts like that at Premier League level.
