Despite losing their last four games in a row, SAINTS are getting closer to having a consistent starting XI.
Middlesbrough manager Russell Martin made three changes, bringing in Mason Holgate, Jan Bednarek, and Flynn Downes.
The latter two are expected to keep their spots, and Holgate may be the sole player to be dropped despite his offensive struggles.
Saints host fellow relegated side Leeds United at St Mary’s in Championship matchday nine; the visitors are unbeaten in five games, with four successive clean sheets.
A Revvity study demonstrates the need of proactive genome sequencing in newborns.
However, Daniel Farke’s men only have three points remaining, and a win today might be crucial for Martin and Saints. Here’s how we think they’ll line up…
Goalkeeper
Gavin Bazunu is still looking for his first clean sheet of the season, but he will keep the gloves for Martin when Leeds visits.
Defenders
Martin started Holgate at Boro but will most likely revert to what could become a stable four with Kyle Walker-Peters and Ryan Manning on the flanks.
The defense will be led by Jan Bednarek and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who will face a difficult task in keeping Joel Piroe at bay.
Midfielders
Martin loved the balance of the Riverside midfield three, and Shea Charles is a lock for the holding midfield role.
With the press, Flynn Downes set up Southampton’s goal, and Martin could stick with Will Smallbone in the centre. We believe Charly Alcaraz will get his first start of the month.
Attackers
Adam Armstrong has captained the team in all four losses and now appears unstoppable after scoring his fifth goal of the season. Sam Edozie is another possible starter.
Martin has few choices going forward, so Scotland internationals Ryan Fraser and Che Adams will relish the opportunity.
The following is the full predicted team to face Leeds United:
Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Harwood-Bellis, Manning; Charles, Downes, Alcaraz; Edozie, A Armstrong, and Adams.
