News Flash: Liverpool could see Mo Salah replacement join Man Utd instead despite agreeing £164m deal

Liverpool could lose a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah to rival Manchester United.

Salah was the subject of considerable attention from Saudi Professional League club Al Ittihad in the final stages of the summer transfer season.

Liverpool, on the other hand, stayed firm, insistent that their talisman would not be sold at any cost.

Al Ittihad will allegedly renew their interest in Salah in future transfer windows.

With this in mind, Liverpool has been compiling a list of potential replacements for Salah.

Since the Salah news broke, numerous players have been linked with Liverpool, including Juventus star Federico Chiesa.

Despite the fact that the Anfield club has agreed to a fresh £164 million investment from global sports investment firm Dynasty Equity, Jurgen Klopp’s transfer budget will remain unchanged.

To make matters worse, Chiesa is apparently on United’s wanted list.

According to the Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato, United have contacted Chiesa about replacing Jadon Sancho.

23-year-old Sancho is facing an uncertain future at the club after a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag.

The United boss criticised Sancho’s performances in training after the Arsenal match, he said: “Jadon was [absent] on his performance on the training.

“We didn’t select him. You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices on the frontline, so for this game, he wasn’t selected.”

Sancho then hit back with his own statement to deny all claims made by Ten Hag.

Since then, it has been reported that Sancho has been exiled after refusing to apologise to the manager.

Former Red Devils captain Roy Keane named the only thing he believes the current dressing room ‘wouldn’t have tolerated’ with Sancho as he shared his thoughts on the situation.

With the 23-year-old out of Ten Hag’s plans, it appears the Dutch boss is eyeing a replacement in January ahead of the second half of the season.

According to Calcio Mercato, Man United have identified Federico Chiesa as a replacement for Sancho, with a January transfer mooted.
