‘It’s very high quality’: Glenn Hoddle amazed by what Liverpool player achieved today

Glenn Hoddle was amazed by Alexis Mac Allister’s pass and assist that helped Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool beat West Ham United 3-1 at Anfield on Sunday.

Following their midweek European adventures, Liverpool and West Ham traded blows on Merseyside, with the hosts opening the scoring with a Mohamed Salah penalty before Jarrod Bowen leveled the score just before half-time.

Liverpool struggled in the second half and overwhelmed their London opponents, with Alexis Mac Allister attempting to deliver a pass that England legend Glenn Hoddle described as ‘of the highest quality.

That assist from Alexis Mac Allister was his first in Liverpool colors following his summer move from Brighton and Hove Albion.

To no one’s surprise, the 24-year-old has made a great start to life on Merseyside and it’s even better that it was one of his closest friends, Darwin Nunez, who bagged his first assist.

During Hoddle’s playing days, the Englishman was one of the best of his time with the ball and knows a quality pass when he sees one.

“It’s a fantastic ball from Mac Allister,” Hoddle said. “Hitting a straight ball in a straight line with so many defenders there, that’s the highest quality. Also a nice ending.”

This is another win for Liverpool as this new and revamped team continues to show Premier League title form from here on out.

The Reds are second in the Premier League, while Treble winners Manchester City top the table with six wins from six.

If Pep Guardiola’s side do what they do best, then it’s pretty clear that the title will return to Manchester, but if there’s anyone who can stop them it’s Klopp, as his Liverpool were the last team to do so.

They don’t like each other: Richard Keys about Jurgen Klopp and another Premier League boss

Richard Keys has revealed his opinion that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag don’t like each other

With Paul Heckingbottom under real pressure after Newcastle United beat his Sheffield United side 8-0, Keys insisted Eddie Howe sympathized with his counterpart.

He explained that if Heckingbottom had been sacked by the Blades on Monday morning, Howe would have contacted him to express his condolences.

However, former Liverpool star Jason McAteer was sceptical, telling Keys on beIN SPORTS: “Do you think Jurgen Klopp texted Ten Hag after the 7-0 thrashing last season and said ‘try for your friend ‘?”

And this prompted Keys to admit that he and Klopp Ten Hag are not in love with each other.

“No [I don’t think Klopp is sending a message to Ten Hag] because I don’t think they like each other,” Keys responded.

Klopp’s Liverpool will not face Manchester United in the Premier League until mid-December, with the duel expected to take place at Anfield Road.

The meeting between the two teams at Old Trafford is expected to take place in early April.

Meanwhile, at Bramall Lane, all eyes will be on whether Heckingbottom can keep his job following the 8-0 defeat of Sheffield United.
