According to the report: As the ex-chief approaches a comeback, Jurgen Klopp might collaborate with him once more.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp might end up working with Michael Edwards again after the legendary former sporting director started a new role.

Edwards, who has been linked with several high-profile clubs over the last year, has decided to embark on an independent advisory job.

The 44-year-old stepped down from his job at Anfield after a remarkable 11 years.

Faith in a data-led approach helped him rebuild the Merseysiders and his work, alongside Klopp’s arrival in 2015, led to Premier League and Champions League triumphs.

It has been one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. But the scale of Edwards’ work was placed into context following his surprise exit in the summer of 2022.

The former Portsmouth analyst was replaced by his No 2, Julian Ward, but he lasted just a year before departing. Ward’s replacement, Jorg Schmadtke, was handpicked by Klopp.

Jurgen Klopp may jump at the chance to work with Michael Edwards

Several changes at the club have prompted a wobble at Anfield, with Liverpool finishing fifth in the Premier League last season.

The jury also remains out on a huge summer overhaul that saw Liverpool spend a little under £150m on a brand new midfield.

Liverpool’s recent struggles have made Edwards’ work appear even better.

The former Reds chief could now be set to work with Klopp again if he chooses to help the Reds in his new advisory role.

According to The Athletic, Edwards will take on a non-executive role at Ludonautics working alongside Liverpool’s former director of research, Ian Graham.

The job will allow Edwards to begin his own advisory service, and that could lead to a reunion with Klopp if he chooses to do so.
