One of Jurgen Klopp’s high-profile additions has been outstanding in training recently, according to the manager.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp spoke ahead of the game against West Ham and praised Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan striker has performed well when used this season.

He played a crucial role in Wolves’ victory and scored a brilliant brace at Newcastle a few weeks ago.

And speaking of Nunez, Klopp admitted that the striker has put in some excellent performances in training this year.

Before the Hammers clash, Klopp spoke to the press about some of his playersAnd after heaping praise on Jarrell Quansah, Klopp then moved on to Nunez, admitting that the striker is currently playing with real confidence in training.

“He’s good, very good. He’s in a great place, having a lot of fun and doing well.

As an attacker you only have problems if you don’t have a chance.

He had chances, chances and obviously it wasn’t that long ago that he scored the two most incredible goals I’ve ever seen against Newcastle, he was absolutely crazy.

He played a great game against Aston Villa, then there was the international break, he had a bit of muscle problems – he said he was fine, but obviously we read what [the coach of ‘Uruguay Marcelo] Bielsa, then he also made very intense away games so I decided “We didn’t start him [at Molineux], but he came in and had a huge impact on the game,” Klopp said.

“So he’s in a good moment, you can see it in training.

At that moment it is not important whether he scores or not: for an attacker it is important that in these moments in which he does not score but plays well, you understand it well and then you move forward, then everything will settle down.

“Nunez hopes to win this weekend and continue his good form.

There is definitely something about Darwin Nunez this season that bodes well for Liverpool.

He seems a little more rounded in terms of some parts of his game at the top and while that rawness is still evident in his game, he showed Newcastle how good he can be even with that bit of composure.

Nunez could have a great season here and if he can continue to play well and score goals, a title push might not be out of the question.
