Ange Postecoglou calls up young Tottenham player, 20, to train with first team ahead of NLD

Ange Postecoglou has apparently called up Tottenham Hotspur youngster Nile John for first-team training ahead of the north London derby.

In a video on Tottenham’s official YouTube channel, Postecoglou can be seen putting his players through their paces ahead of Sunday’s match at the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham have had a brilliant start to the season, winning four from their opening five Premier League games.

In their last match, Spurs secured an impressive victory against Sheffield United as Postecoglou’s men scored twice in injury time after a 1-0 deficit.

But on Sunday they face their toughest test of the season so far when they make the short journey through north London.

And it appears that Tottenham academy youngster Nile John has been called up for first-team training ahead of the game.

John appears in the Tottenham first team in a video posted on the club’s YouTube channel.

The 20-year-old has already made three appearances for the U21 team this season and scored one goal.

John made his debut for Spurs in the 2020/21 Europa League season under Jose Mourinho.

The following season he also reached the Europa Conference League under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo. But the Englishman has not returned there since.

The midfielder was loaned to Charlton in January last year but did not make a single appearance for the League One side.

It seems unlikely that John will get the opportunity to play for Spurs again anytime soon. But being part of the first team should be beneficial for the youngster.

Postecoglou appears to be giving young players a chance at Spurs and John will no doubt be keen.

Ben Foster now shares who he thinks will win the North London derby: Arsenal or Tottenham

Ben Foster backed Tottenham Hotspur to a rare win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Foster spoke on That’s Football and made his predictions for this weekend’s Premier League games.

Mikel Arteta and Ange Postecoglou have had a brilliant start to the campaign.

After Postecoglou, Tottenham are in second place in the championship after winning four of their first five games.

Arteta has the same record, with Arsenal only dropping points at home to Fulham before the international break.

Both north London clubs head into Sunday’s game in fine form, with Arsenal beating PSV 4-0 on their return to Champions League action last night.

But Ben Foster helped Tottenham secure their first league victory at the Emirates Stadium since 2011. Foster predicts North London Derby

Foster was joined by compatriot Mark Goldbridge, who helped Arsenal to another home victory against their bitter rivals.

But Foster believes Ange Postecoglou’s men will pull off a surprise victory on Sunday.
“Okay, then I’ll make sure Spurs win,” said the former Manchester United goalkeeper.

“By the way, it’s so hard to call. It’s going to be a good match, I can’t wait. He added: “I will make sure Spurs win. I like it, Ange Ball.

This weekend’s game against Arsenal should be a real indicator of where Postecoglou’s Tottenham are this season.

Spurs had brilliant victories against Manchester United, Burnley and Bournemouth.

But Arsenal will undoubtedly face the toughest test of the season so far.

Arteta’s team also seem to have found their best form just in time after defeating PSV last night.

In our opinion, Arsenal may have a little too much for Tottenham on Sunday and will record a narrow 2-1 victory.
