Mohamed Salah has been spotted with the rest of his national team teammates ahead of Egypt’s friendly against Tunisia tomorrow night.

The Liverpool striker played no part in his country’s victory against Ethiopia on Friday, although he will now return to the Pharaohs’ squad on Tuesday.

Liverpool reportedly wanted to sign Napoli midfielder Eljif Elmas this summer.

The Reds have strengthened their midfield by bringing in Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, who have been linked with numerous names.

One of those not mentioned was Elmas, who Corriere dello Sport reported was someone Liverpool were “looking for”, adding that the Reds “would have gone as far as offering €30m ( 25 million pounds sterling) for his services.

The article adds that RB Leipzig would also be interested, although Napoli were “resolute and decisive” in rejecting such proposals.

Talented Liverpool youngster Trent Kone-Doherty has spoken of the sacrifices he made to reach Liverpool.

The 17-year-old striker joined Liverpool from League of Ireland side Derry City last summer and enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League North and subsequently the UEFA Youth League.

However, the Republic of Ireland youth international’s debut season ended prematurely as an ankle injury suffered during the defeat to Manchester City in February meant he missed the final months of the season.

But despite the setback, Kone-Doherty’s fine form for the Under-18s was rewarded with a summer promotion to train with Liverpool’s first team, where he worked alongside the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

In an interview with Liverpool.com, Kone-Doherty, which dates from the county of Derry in Northern Ireland, explained how his trip to Angeldd was interrupted with difficulties when he was responsible for leaving his hometown shortly shortly After his 17th birthday.
