Everton ready mega financial package to seal ‘sensational’ Liam Delap transfer

Everton are one of the sides keen on signing Liam Delap this summer.

David Moyes is looking to add to his squad this summer, and a striker is a necessary addition.

With Delap set to leave Ipswich Town following their relegation to the Championship, he is being chased by several sides.

The Toffees have made no secret of their interest, too, and it has been reported that they are ready to push for the transfer.

Everton have struggled with their options in the final third this season.

Armando Broja is set to return to Chelsea with no interest in making the loan deal permanent and Beto is also expected to leave Merseyside, despite improving in the final months of the season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is approaching the end of his contract and his future is uncertain, although the Everton boss won’t be happy to have him as the sole option, causing Moyes to search elsewhere.

Delap is not short of offers this summer, though, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United all credited with interest in the striker.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano (27 May), the Blues are willing to push the boat out to secure the services of the 22-year-old this summer.

Speaking on YouTube, Romano said: ” Everton are prepared to make a very big financial proposal to the player, then giving him the possibility maybe to leave the club in two or three years, something like that.

“Of course, for Everton it would be a sensational signing and so he could be the face of the world project.”

Everton need to push for Delap deal

Moyes knows that there is plenty of work to be done on Merseyside this summer and hopes to fire his team up the Premier League table next season.

Gaining the services of Delap could be a massive boost in doing so, solving a key problem that the Toffees have had in front of goal this season.

Delap is said to be interested in a move where he will get regular minutes as he looks towards the 2026 World Cup, and there is no doubt that Everton would fit the bill on that front.

Therefore, if a large financial proposal could be tabled, the youngster could easily be convinced to take a move for growth and development now, before setting his sights on moving on shortly if he succeeded.

As Romano says, as Everton prepare to get underway with their new era, Delap could be the poster boy for that, which would surely pay off for both parties.
