The North Carolina Tar Heels have experienced notable changes in their football roster, particularly with the departure of linebacker Caleb LaVallee. LaVallee, who played primarily on special teams during his redshirt freshman season at UNC, has transferred to Florida State University (FSU). At FSU, he is expected to strengthen the linebacker rotation under defensive coordinator Tony White and linebackers coach John Papuchis, bringing with him three years of eligibility and a promising athletic background.

In basketball, the Tar Heels have seen significant roster movements. Forward Zayden High has been removed from the UNC roster and is no longer enrolled due to undisclosed off-the-court issues. Reports indicate that High’s situation had been precarious throughout the offseason, culminating in a suspension. There is speculation that he might rejoin the team next season, although the dynamic nature of player transfers in the portal era leaves this uncertain.

Additionally, the men’s basketball team has bolstered its lineup by adding former Georgia Tech forward Tzyhaun Claude. Claude’s commitment adds depth to the Tar Heels’ frontcourt, which includes players like Jalen Washington, Jae’Lyn Withers, James Brown, and Ven-Allen Lubin.

These roster changes reflect the evolving dynamics within UNC’s athletic programs as they prepare for the upcoming seasons.
