Done Deal: NZ Breakers Secure Towering Tacko Fall on $3 Million Deal, Player Set to Join Team

In a major coup for the New Zealand Breakers, the team has officially secured towering Senegalese center Tacko Fall on a $3 million deal. The 7ft 6in (2.29m) giant, who has become a cult figure during his time in the NBA, will be joining the Breakers as they prepare for their three-game NBA swing, starting with a matchup against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City this weekend.

At 28, Fall has had stints with the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, and after recent contracts in China, he is ready to relaunch his career with the Breakers. The Auckland-based club will benefit from his exceptional size and defensive presence, making him a key addition to their NBL roster.

Fall, already a popular figure among basketball fans worldwide, expressed excitement about the move, saying, “I’ve heard good things about the NBL and how professional the league is. For me, it’s something I’m really excited about.”

Though Fall initially joins the team for their NBA exhibition tour, speculation is high that he will stay on full-time with the Breakers. Should that happen, the club would need to shuffle its current roster, likely replacing American center Freddie Gillespie, who struggled in the season opener.

Tacko Fall’s arrival marks a significant addition to the Breakers’ campaign, and fans are eager to see him take the court in the NBL, where his dominance in the paint is expected to make a major impact.
