Confusion Erupts as Josh Addo-Carr Faces Alleged Drug Driving Charge, Bulldogs Deny Rumours

READ THE TRUTH BEHIND JOSH ADDO-CARR CONTROVERSY ON FRIDAY NIGHT TILL DATE…

Canterbury Bulldogs winger Josh Addo-Carr finds himself at the center of controversy just days before his team’s highly anticipated return to the NRL finals. Allegations surfaced that the 29-year-old star returned a positive roadside cocaine test on Friday night during a routine police stop as part of Operation RAID. The incident has thrown a cloud of uncertainty over his availability for the Bulldogs’ finals clash against Manly this Sunday.

According to a statement from NSW Police, Addo-Carr was pulled over around 10:45pm at Wentworth Point, Sydney, where he allegedly tested positive for cocaine during a roadside drug test. The sample has been sent for further analysis, and while the investigation is ongoing, no charges have been laid at this time.

“About 10:45pm on Friday, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command stopped a Toyota hatchback for random testing,” read the police statement. “The driver — a 29-year-old man — was subject to roadside testing which allegedly returned a positive indication for cocaine.”

Despite the allegations, Canterbury Bulldogs football boss Phil Gould quickly moved to shut down speculation, taking to social media to refute the claims. Gould insisted that the test results were negative and that Addo-Carr was cleared to continue driving.

“The test results were negative and Josh was allowed to continue on his way,” Gould wrote on Twitter. “There is absolutely no truth to rumours that Josh had any issue. None whatsoever.”

The timing of the allegations has raised concern as the Bulldogs prepare for their first finals appearance since 2016. Addo-Carr, who missed the team’s final regular season game due to a minor ankle injury, is expected to return to the field for the high-stakes match against Manly.

Operation RAID, the state-wide traffic enforcement initiative under which Addo-Carr was stopped, reportedly detected 470 alleged drug drivers out of 10,885 tests conducted over the weekend.

As fans and the NRL await the outcome of the sample analysis, Addo-Carr’s future in the finals series remains in question. For now, the Bulldogs remain focused on their upcoming clash, with Gould urging the community to dismiss the rumors and enjoy the excitement of finals football.
