Report: Central Washington Venue Falls Victim to $250,000 Fraud in Fake Imagine Dragons Booking Scam…

WENATCHEE, WA — The Town Toyota Center (TTC) is embroiled in a $250,000 fraud after unknowingly paying a fake agent to book a concert with the renowned pop band, Imagine Dragons.

The venue had engaged Harmony Artists Inc., its trusted booking agent for 16 years, to secure Imagine Dragons for a concert scheduled for June 21, 2025. Harmony Artists introduced TTC to an agent claiming to be James Whitting of Wasserman Music, the management company for Imagine Dragons. As per contractual requirements, TTC paid an advance of $250,000 via wire transfer on August 23, 2024, to reserve the date.

However, just three weeks later, TTC learned that James Whitting was an imposter, setting off a scramble to recover the funds. The venue immediately contacted Harmony Artists Inc., its bank, and its insurance company, seeking assistance. According to TTC, efforts are underway to secure a full reimbursement for the loss through their insurance.

“We are evaluating the internal practices that allowed this to happen and are in communication with law enforcement to track down the individual responsible,” said a spokesperson for Town Toyota Center.

This incident has prompted TTC to reassess its booking procedures and policies to prevent future fraudulent activity. The investigation into the fake booking continues, with authorities aiming to bring the scam artist to justice.

The concert, unfortunately, will not go ahead, leaving fans in Wenatchee disappointed.
