‘We Handled It Great’: Bulldogs Coach Backs Josh Addo-Carr Contract Termination Amid Saga

Canterbury Bulldogs head coach Cameron Ciraldo has come forward to address the recent decision to terminate Josh Addo-Carr’s contract, backing the club’s move despite the controversy surrounding the star winger. Speaking at a press conference, Ciraldo highlighted the importance of maintaining club values and team unity in the wake of Addo-Carr’s off-field saga.

“We handled it great,” Ciraldo stated. “It’s always tough when decisions like this have to be made, especially regarding a player of Josh’s caliber. But at the end of the day, we have to stand by our principles and make the right choices for the team.”

Addo-Carr, who has been involved in a series of off-field incidents, faced increasing scrutiny over his behavior. After thorough internal discussions, the Bulldogs opted to terminate his contract, citing a breach of conduct. Despite Addo-Carr’s immense talent and contribution to the team, Ciraldo emphasized that the club had no choice but to take decisive action.

“The players and staff have been fantastic in handling the situation,” Ciraldo said. “There’s no doubt Josh is a special player, but we all understand that the standards we set at this club are non-negotiable.”

With the termination now official, the Bulldogs are focused on moving forward and ensuring the team’s momentum isn’t disrupted. “We’ve got a great group here, and while we’ll miss Josh, we’re committed to staying focused on our goals,” Ciraldo concluded.

The Bulldogs now face the challenge of replacing Addo-Carr’s on-field presence as they look to rebuild both their lineup and morale.
