Report: Missing woman, 25, found shot to death in car with man family says was stalking her

Phoenix, AZ (KPHO/Gray News) – Arizona police have confirmed that a missing woman, 25-year-old Doris Aguilar, was among two individuals found shot to death in a parking lot earlier this month. Aguilar, who had been missing since July 1, was discovered alongside 51-year-old Juan Cuellar in a steakhouse parking lot near 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard on July 7.

Authorities have classified Aguilar’s death as a homicide. The bodies of both individuals were found inside a car that appeared to have been parked for several days. While the car in which Aguilar was discovered did not belong to her, police recovered a gun inside the vehicle.

The Maricopa County medical examiner has confirmed Aguilar’s identity, though her cause of death remains pending further investigation. According to investigators, Cuellar died by suicide.

Aguilar’s family and a private investigator, Steve Fischer, have raised concerns that Cuellar had been stalking Aguilar for some time. Family members reported that Aguilar had expressed fear for her safety, mentioning that a stalker was persistently harassing her.

Fischer revealed that Cuellar had previously worked in the same building as Aguilar before being fired a year ago. Despite this, he allegedly continued to send threatening messages to Aguilar. Her disappearance was reported by her family on July 1, with her vehicle later found outside the Christown Spectrum shopping center in central Phoenix.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Aguilar’s death and Cuellar’s involvement. The tragic incident has left Aguilar’s family seeking answers as they mourn her loss.
