Runner Dies After Crossing Finish Line at Disneyland’s Halloween Half Marathon…..

A passionate runner and Disney TikTok creator, 35-year-old Bobby Graves, passed away on Sunday after finishing Disneyland’s Halloween Half Marathon during a Southern California heatwave. Graves, who went by his middle name Caleb, was seen clutching his chest as he crossed the finish line around 7 a.m. A volunteer caught him before he fell, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Matt Sutter.

The day before his death, Graves had posted a TikTok video where he mentioned experiencing heat exhaustion after walking his dog and expressed hope about completing the upcoming race.

Sutter reported that Graves had no known medical issues prior to his sudden cardiac arrest, and the coroner’s office is still determining the exact cause. Graves, an accomplished long-distance runner, had previously completed Disney World’s full and half-marathon events in both 2023 and earlier this year.

Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good conveyed the company’s condolences, stating, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Caleb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Graves had over 18,000 TikTok followers, where he shared content about his theme park visits, running tips, and daily life. In addition to his social media presence, he worked as a litigation associate at the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

Messages of sympathy have been shared by his friends, family, and fans on Facebook and TikTok. The Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend is part of the company’s runDisney program, which includes numerous marathon events. This is not the first time a runner has died during a runDisney event; a similar incident occurred in 2019 during the Walt Disney World Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend 5K.
