Sad news:Fatal Chain-Reaction Crash in Santa Rosa Claims Life of Former Teacher, Nine Others Injured….

A tragic chain-reaction collision at a Santa Rosa intersection on Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of one driver and injuries to nine others, according to updated reports from authorities.

The victim has been identified as 78-year-old Pat LaFortune, a beloved former history teacher and track coach from Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa. LaFortune was well-known within the community and was remembered fondly by many on an alumni Facebook page.

The incident occurred around 11:50 a.m. on Highway 12 at Fulton Road. Authorities reported that a dump truck, which was traveling westbound, crashed into a line of 11 cars that were stopped at a red light. The force of the impact caused a violent chain-reaction collision involving the waiting vehicles.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find several cars severely damaged and multiple people in need of medical attention. The injured individuals were transported to local hospitals, with their conditions varying from minor to serious.
