Heartbreaking Update: Career-Ending Injury Strikes SR Industry Titan… just in

The rodeo world is reeling from devastating news as Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi, the 2023 World Champion Barrel Racer, faces a significant setback. SR Industry Titan, her main mount for the 2024 season, has suffered a career-ending injury, according to an announcement by 70 Ranch Performance Horses.

The 11-year-old stallion, sired by Firewaterontherocks and out of Mulberry Canyon Moon (Martha Six Moons), has been a crucial partner for Pozzi-Tonozzi, especially during her record-breaking year. With lifetime earnings of $335,233 as of July 21, 2024, this injury marks the end of his competitive career, and he will now transition to his new role as a breeding stallion.

Affectionately known as “Titan,” the stallion played a key role in Pozzi-Tonozzi’s third World Championship win in December 2023. Titan had recently set an arena record in North Platte, Nebraska, and his success over the Fourth of July run boosted Pozzi-Tonozzi’s World Standings position to 17th with $54,368.

The injury is the latest in a series of setbacks for Pozzi-Tonozzi, who has also dealt with injuries to her other horses, Birdie and Benny, earlier in the season. Despite these challenges, Titan had emerged as a standout performer, consistently winning and proving his worth.

In an earlier interview, Pozzi-Tonozzi praised Titan’s exceptional effort and temperament, highlighting how easy he was to handle, even alongside two mares. The loss of Titan as a competitive partner is deeply felt by the rodeo community, and well-wishers are extending their thoughts to everyone affected by this unfortunate turn of events.
