In New York, Rybakina had earlier announced that she ended her five-year coaching relationship with Vukov, who had been instrumental in her rise and her first Grand Slam win at Wimbledon in 2022. She confirmed she is now working with Kazakh team captain Yuri Shchukin.

When asked if her coaching change was due to a desire for a new perspective or other reasons, Rybakina avoided giving details, stating she would update if there were any further changes.

Despite criticism of her coaching setup from figures like Pam Shriver, Rybakina had previously defended Vukov, asserting his respect and dedication. After her victory over Destanee Aiava, Rybakina indicated she would consider a more permanent coaching arrangement after the US Open, focusing on her performance in the tournament. Her next match will be against Jessika Ponchet from France.
