A 50-year-old climber from Baden-Württemberg tragically lost his life in a mountain climbing accident on the Alpspitze near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The climber was descending the Wetterstein mountains at an altitude of approximately 2,500 meters when he slipped and fell over 100 meters onto rocky terrain, according to a police report.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene via helicopter, but despite their efforts, the climber could not be revived. The climber’s companion, who called for help, was airlifted to the valley and received support from a crisis intervention team.
