Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo return as Tony DiNozzo, Jr. and Ziva David in a new set photo from the upcoming NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. This marks their on-screen reunion a decade after their last appearance on the flagship show. Filming for NCIS: Tony & Ziva is underway in Budapest, and while cast members have been sharing various set photos, this latest image provides our first look at Weatherly and de Pablo back in character.

Weatherly and de Pablo are dressed as their characters, with de Pablo sitting on her set chair and Weatherly standing nearby. They seem to be engaged in a casual conversation, though the exact details of what they’re filming remain unclear.
In NCIS: Tony & Ziva, the beloved characters, along with their tween daughter Tali, are expected to be on the run across Europe from an unnamed threat. While specific plot details are scarce, it’s known that the family will be supported by skilled operatives across the continent. This suggests they might not have much interaction with their Major Case Response Team (MCRT) back in the Navy Yard, though it remains to be seen how this impacts their safety, especially with Tali in tow.
Weatherly has previously mentioned that Tali will grapple with the fallout from her mother’s staged death, which Ziva orchestrated to protect her family. Tony eventually learned Ziva was alive, but Tali might not have known until Ziva rejoined them.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva will stream on Paramount+, diverging from the usual CBS broadcast format, and will consist of 10 episodes, unlike the typical 20+ episodes of other NCIS shows. There are also rumors that NCIS season 22 might include a backdoor pilot for this spinoff, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
