Anthony Edwards shared this information a week later on the Fanatic Fest Podcast with former player Jalen Rose. He explained that he, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry had to take a drug test in Paris right after the final. “I’m not going to lie, Durant and I had a doping test. We couldn’t really celebrate the win in the locker room because we, along with Steph, had to undergo a doping test,” said Edwards.
This incident helps debunk the previous myths that NBA players could avoid doping tests at international events. Edwards’ account reaffirms that the IOC and WADA enforce strict anti-doping regulations, ensuring that all athletes, including NBA players, must adhere to these standards, regardless of the substances permitted in their domestic leagues.
