A doping test interrupted the celebrations of Curry, Durant, and Edwards following their victory in the Olympic gold medal event.

The Wolves star disclosed that he felt disappointed because he couldn’t fully enjoy the Olympic victory with his teammates.

Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards, and Kevin Durant were part of Team USA Basketball, which won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, finishing the tournament undefeated and showcasing their dominance in global basketball. However, their celebrations were cut short shortly after the final and the national anthem, as health authorities required them to undergo a doping test.
Anthony Edwards shares story about unforgettable Paris Olympics moment

Anthony Edwards shared this information a week later on the Fanatic Fest Podcast with former player Jalen Rose. He explained that he, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry had to take a drug test in Paris right after the final. “I’m not going to lie, Durant and I had a doping test. We couldn’t really celebrate the win in the locker room because we, along with Steph, had to undergo a doping test,” said Edwards.

This incident helps debunk the previous myths that NBA players could avoid doping tests at international events. Edwards’ account reaffirms that the IOC and WADA enforce strict anti-doping regulations, ensuring that all athletes, including NBA players, must adhere to these standards, regardless of the substances permitted in their domestic leagues.
