AC/DC concluded their 2024 comeback tour in spectacular fashion with a massive performance at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, drawing over 82,000 fans. The band’s lineup for this tour included Brian Johnson, lead guitarist Angus Young, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, along with new touring members Chris Chaney on bass and Matt Laug on drums, who stepped in for Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd, respectively.
The concert featured a 21-song setlist that kicked off with “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” and the iconic “Back in Black.” The crowd was then treated to a mix of classics like “Thunderstruck,” “Hell’s Bells,” “Highway to Hell,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.”
In addition to the timeless hits, the band also performed tracks from their latest album, 2020’s Power Up, including “Demon Fire” and “Shot in the Dark.” Fans were also delighted by the inclusion of some of AC/DC’s lesser-played songs like “Stiff Upper Lip” and “Shot Down in Flames.”
The electrifying show ended with an encore featuring “T.N.T.” and “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You),” leaving the audience in awe.
AC/DC first made their return with Johnson on vocals in late 2023 at the Power Trip festival in California, which led to the announcement of a U.K. and European tour. While there’s no official word yet on a North American tour, the band remains hugely popular in the U.S., and Johnson’s strong performance on the U.K. and European legs suggests he might be ready for a U.S. run. Fans who have only seen AC/DC with Axl Rose may feel they haven’t yet experienced the true essence of the band, making a potential North American tour with Johnson all the more exciting.
AC/DC’s Power Up album, released in 2020, was praised as one of the year’s best by Audio Ink Radio. The album was celebrated for staying true to the band’s straight-ahead rock roots, delivering exactly what fans had been waiting for since 2014’s Rock or Bust.
